Cliff -- sorry -- TRACTORBYNET forum -- I think it was in the customization threads -- A guy took chain, cut it into pieces then bolted the top link of each piece between two pieces of slotted steel, then bolted the whole thing to the cutter - did not look to bad and should work OK. Regards Steve

Steve - Thanks for taking the time to find the link. I have the chain and can find the angle iron. I think I'll try to make this. Thread lock should help with keeping the bolts tight. Any suggestions from anyone would be welcome.

Bolting the chain on should work too. Just a lot of bolts man. But without a welder, that's the next best thing. You saw how expensive those chain guards are if you buy them. Plus add shipping to that. Did you notice how the center section is shorter than the sides? That's because the chain will be pushed under the cutter and the blades can hit the chain and either cut it off or rip it off. That's what happened to 3 of my strings. The blade ripped them off. I thought I'd checked to be certain that wouldn't happen, but dang, it did anyway! I found one string and need to re-make the other two. In hindsight, I should have made the front of the chain bar (closest to the tractor) in a slight radius or like I made the rear ones. Rob-

Thanks Rob. I'll take care to measure that so I don't end up with chains in my backside (or head)!
