The carpet was installed and it was an all day affair, two guys broke their backs for 9 1/2hrs. I had the floor prepped for them, totally bare and well shop vacuumed, I also had removed all the doors and had the heat up pretty high for them. The heat helps the carpet relax and lay flat, done in too cold a space the carpet will eventually buckle, most installers I`ve know won`t lay carpet in a room below 65"F They did a really nice job, I can recommend Home Depot carpet, the head mechanic did beautiful seaming and with this dark color you can`t find them, which is how it should be if done right. I can lay carpet, but this was way too much yardage for me to even think about doing myself. I swear I was tired from watching these poor guys work themselves half to death, that is a tough racket if you ask me, very tough on the knees and back. Here is one of the bedrooms Here is our Sam Shitsu. The dogs love the new carpet, our brindle puppy spent all morning carrying his toys upstairs one at a time. Paul

The bride wanted a leather sectional for the new family room, we went with a classic roll arm design sold by Fortunoffs. It is 10 1/2ft by 7ft and it was a real job getting it upstairs, my buddy whose oil tank I moved with the tractor a while back helped me with this arduous task. Paul

Wow Paul, what a terrific deal on the 50 incher. When the new technology first came out, we bought a 42" Samsung LCD 1080P tv and it was like $2,400 back in October a year ago. The swivel wall mount was $150 bucks! The Plasmas were a little less but the LCD was supposed to be more efficient on our solar. Then, stupid us, we did not install it until we moved in here July last year! Had we waited and bought it then (in July), we could have saved a lot because they were coming down already. Shit, the difference is like a new Beretta shotgun!!! (I never said I was the smartest guy regarding stuff like that) So how are things going for you? Did you survive Winter or is it still happening for you? I still read about severe Winter storms towards the East Coast. Rob-

Hey Rob, it is very much still winter here in NE PA, last Sat morning it was 15degs below zero at 5AM. I used the tractor to haul some firewood later in the day and it was a mother to start. The glow plugs eventually did it but it sure complained. There has also been enough around the airport that the aeronautical lighting has been taking a hell of a beating. A lot of new people have been hired in maintenance and very few have snow experience. The flat screen tv prices have really fallen in the last few months, I was following the prices since late Sept and waiting.I saw this deal New Yrs Eve on Slickdeals. I called the store the next morning and a salesman named Walter sounded surprised when I asked about this deal, he wasn`t aware of it, but he put me on hold and them confirmed the deal. I asked how many were there, he said 3 left but plenty more were in the warehouse so not to worry. I got there at 2PM, store wasn`t that busy, TV salesmen were falling asleep at the counter.Walter had gone home for the day early so I dealt with someone else. I told him exactly what I wanted and he too looked surprised at the deal, but wrote me up, it came up at $1499 he had to call the store manager over to over-ride the price to $997. Then three different people try to sell you the extended warranty package, to which my answer is (No Thanks, it`s a gift for someone I don`t like) This line also ends them trying to sell you a better set. It shuts them down cold every time, they don`t know what to say, the argument is over. Then they bring it out, open the box, you sign off and escape their clutches. I was in and out in 10mins flat, very happy as I was about to buy this same model from 6th Ave Electronics for $1288 and I truly hate dealing with 6th Ave.because they are Pirates, real bait and switch.

Hey Paul, Good luck with the new 50" TV, we got a new LG 50 series LCD 42"with hidden speakers about 2 months ago for about US$ 1200 including 19% tax and delivery and I am far from pleased with the picture quality. We have the same system as you down here (NTSC) and broadcast reproduction quality is fine with the old 26" CRT TV but not so hot with the new one (same pixels, twice the area). It's much better playing from a DVD. I am told that it will be much better with HDTV when the government decides which system to have ,US,European or Japanese. I did notice when setting it up that it had two setups, 1/. "Home" or 2/. "Shop display" which makes a cynic like me wonder? I also hear that the cable quality of feed (we have cable) is much inferior to direct satellite broadcasting (which we may go to at the new house) I also notice in the stores that all the TVs are playing from DVD and not broadcast Television to make the picture look better that it really will be when you get it home, anyway, glad you are getting on better with yours, Dick

Thanks Dick, we have a 32in LG lcd in our bedroom for 3yrs now and have been very happy with it. I hooked up a DVD player to the new set and the wife and I watched some movies over the weekend. We hung a tapestry on the wall in the hallway. Paul

Man Paul your place looks like a million. The Big screen is awesome, and just in time for the super bowl too. With all the money you saved maybe theres even enough left over for some snacks during the game? I'm afraid I still watch analog vacuum tube TV with a digital converter box I got with a $40 coupon provided by the federal government assistance program. I sure was thankful for that. In fact I got 5 coupons, tried to sell a couple of them on eBay for some pocket money but didn't get any bids Larry

Thanks Ed and Larry, the plasma works great. I also have a couple of the Zenith digital converter boxes and I love them. I want to get a couple more but everyone is sold out of the Zenith boxes right now by me.
