I have a Husqvarna 455 Rancher saw and it is quite powerful. Kinda heavy, definitely not a one hander. Has a deep throaty bark, not a high pitch whine when cutting. In my opinion, for whatever it's worth, it's an excellent saw I would recommend for serious cutting.

That´s the fella ! only diference is that the chain blade is an Oregon not Echo, don´t know why but it matters not . It is very powerfull, I suspect that when the Japanese quote HP output they are realistic when some others are optimistic or ¨with the wind behind it¨ Dick

Well, sorry to ¨go on¨ but..... we had an old dead Acacia tree fall down near the House a year or so back and thought the time had come to tidy it up and put the wood in the store to dry. As you may know Acacia is heavy and very hard, so took both saws with me. The little Poulan could not make progress and more or less bounced of the trunk when I tried to cut it, so..................... took out the Echo and boy o boy ! it just ripped through this very tough wood like there was no tomorrow ! My father always said ¨buy something above it´s job¨ and was he ever right. No knocking the Poulan which was never intended to do the same work, but Oh it´s chalk and cheese. Can´t recomend it highly enough !

AS I said before, I have a Husqvarna Rancher for one, I have 5 chain saws, and it is the best saw I've ever owned. Cut down 36 inch trees with it with no problem. Starts instantly. A little heavy for some I guess, but I like the saw very much. PJ Not cheap, but worth it. Husky Rancher,

I have found the major factor in wether a chain saw is good or not is the chain. I like husqvarna chains but hate oregon chains.
