I have had CRS for many years, but now I am old enough that I have an excuse.

Well I have had a bit of time to think this over again & again. I found a guy on Ebay that sold me a short top link with a 9" body for less than $30 bucks so I don't have to drill, cut, grind or make problems that I might have to fix if I did it wrong. Going down Friday & expect to have the new top link on in short order.
What kind of grease or oil would you guys put on the threads?
Hang in their Franky I'm coming down their soon.

Well we arrived Friday early afternoon, no workers on the pole building, DARN. The poles are in the ground & some horizontal wood is up with bracing.
Replaced the top link with the new shorter one. Big difference, now I can lift the brush hog wheel off the ground for more clearance, GREAT.
I found Big chunks of stone with the blades, (bad news for the blades) Have not looked at them yet. Ouch......

Awwww, brush hog blades work pretty well even when so dull you'd think they wouldn't cut anything. You'll probably discover that rocks don't do nearly as much damage to a blade as will say, a fence stake or other piece of metal. In my experience the rocks mostly beat hell outta the deck, but only dull the blade some if it's really new. Rich

Use whatever grease is in the gun for the top link threads.
