Whats with all the whining The forum was originally created for us Chinese tractor owners that were banished from the *other* forum due to the extreme limitation of our 1st amendment rights and the zero tolerance of not owning a Chinese tractor, or even no tolerance for owning something other than a Chinese tractor. Or getting kicked off "just because". Within reason we do not have those limitations here. Additionally, Chinese Tractor World was started as an alternative to TBN and all it's first amendment right restrictions, trolls and the likes. It is a no nonsense place for ANY tractor owner with the emphasis on but not limited to Chinese tractors, that still holds true today as it was in the beginning. All is not lost! - the forum is still here for reference, reflection and still open to all members for posting. Larry Didn't mean to create a stir. Just hoping more activity would prevail. I asked a question on the other forum, being allowed on due to a different email address, and was immediately banned, after I asked, why was I banned before? No explanation, just banned! Funny, because I don't run people down, never swear or use off color language on the net and own a Chinese tractor. I wonder if it's because I own other make tractors also? I can't believe that would be a reason to ban someone! But, no one will come forward and tell me. Oh well, I tried. PJ

I tried the same thing a couple years ago PJ, and had the same response. Joe seems to be just a touch errrrr... paranoid, I guess. Whatever, it's his sandbox and his alleged rules, capricious as they may be. No loss.

Hi Larry, Oh yeah, the grapple is very handy. I can grab a 5' round bale to feed the horses. It will also grab a whole lot of brush. My goats like to eat the leaves and bark from brush so it works good for winter forage. Privet shrubs and little pine trees are their favorites and they stay green in winter here. I can dump it right over the 7' fence with the bucket and grapple. Thanks again for the beautiful parts you cut out for that project.
I checked out the receiver hitch thread - nice work! My Outlander Max had a little heavier hitch and I just made a little attachment that lets me use a pin hitch with the ball still attached. I'm curious about the situation you complained about in post 5 of that thread. You have a link? It's always fun to see someone act stupid and get owned in a forum.
I recently was PM'd on TBN about helping with a grapple design and am working on that now. The guy says he has a plasma cutting source lined up. I might be interested in getting some backhoe thumb jaws cut if you are interested in doing some more of that. My friend wants a thumb for his JD310 out of 3/4" stock.
Take care, Brad

Take care, Brad Hey Brad that's really swell of you to design a grapple for a TBN'er. I know how much time goes into doing that (for me anyway) a cake walk for you I'm sure. I did one grapple design for a TBN'er last summer. After it was all said and done I told the guy if anyone ever asks where you got that to tell them "I'm sorry, but the guy who did this died" 3/4" stock? wow! Must be going on a track hoe or something big like that. 1/2" thick is the limit on the CNC plasma cutter at the shop I frequent. The shop finally hired a plasma cutting dude because I got super busy at work so had to quit stopping by to help out in trade for metal . The new guy's really sharp so he picked it up quickly and is now an expert. He's cut out the most recent parts for me and they have been coming out great. SNIP...... Q - "I'm curious about the situation you complained about in post 5 of that thread. You have a link? It's always fun to see someone act stupid and get owned in a forum." A - My (very old) grapple build 6 years ago.... [CLICK HERE]"Elite" member "Willl" he was pretty much ignored the rest of the thread he's always been kind of a jerk. Man I cant even remember basic HTML code - rats, I had to look up how to create the "CLICK HERE" link Anyway he (Willl) deleted the photos he pirated from my photobucket account shortly after I thanked him for steeling and posting those photos. Check the time line of his post, my post and the edit of his posts. Rob stepped up to the plate in my defense. I am always amazed at Rob's wit. Larry

Hey P.J.
I believe the answer might be you are a member here and possibly a member of other forums like TBN (none of my business BTW) and yes perhaps because you own a non Chinese tractor so you are guilty by associating by simply being here or with anyone outside that forum.
I'm sure you've heard of cult compounds and the leaders that somehow persuade large numbers of the most innocent and gullible people into following them wherever they lead. Thinking in those terms may help to understand the command and control structure, and the obedience of the willing followers.
So there you have it - banned for life. Don't try to reason, just let it go and move on.

After what I have been through recently, I have discovered that I don't have any delicate sensibilities left (did I have any to begin with?). I have been banned from some sites also and don't really care.
This forum is a great resource and as such stands on its own. We post if we have something interesting to do or say. Otherwise, we read older posts and keep on truckin'. I joked recently about necro-posting but adding progress photos, info and observations of successes or failures is part of the forum experience. I would think that most of us are just trying to get by during this economy.
Remember, life is what happens when you plan for something else.
Regards to all and happy tractoring! ;D

When I first made a suggestion about a name change for this forum, I didn't mean change the whole thing into a developers site! What the H is that about? Who chose these colors? What is this reading black letters on a very dark grey background about? I can hardly read anything and have to strain to do so. If they -(WHOEVER)- put this site in a user friendly layout and colors that makes reading easier, I'm out of here! Whoever chose this color and layout must have had a hard night, or was kicked in the head by a horse!

Tell us how you really feel. Not sure what you mean about developers site. The function doesn't seem to have changed much to me. Larry G. seems to be doing all of the site maintenance and I think he's doing a great job. We are certainly getting our money's worth. I agree the black on grey does not have a lot of contrast.
If you liked the old red/pink colors then it's my fault for complaining about them. If I recall correctly there were some contrast issues with that layout too.

Anyone got time to fix the colors? I can give management rights to a long time trusted member who is willing to fix this and stop all the whining.
HINT -> Brad, you up for it?

Not me, Larry. That sort of stuff is way over my pay grade and farther above my competence level. :-) Hell, I can't even keep my own website up to date. I just don't have enough time left on the Earth to even try to learn what is needed for website development or maintenance, given that I can barely keep up with just reading the ones that interest me. I do moderate one metalsmithing website and spend a lot of time and energy answering technical questions on it, so I have a good idea of what is required in those areas. I don't deal with the mechanics of that site and I know that the guys who do are hiving continual fits trying to keep things working right all the time. Not for me!
I wish you luck in getting some help with this site, though. This is a good site with good members and just needs a bit of cheerleading and some fiddly tweaking of format and such. Those are the same issues we're having on ArtMetal.com, the site I moderate. I'm afraid that Facwbook has pulled away a lot of interest in forums, which I think is a shame. All the stuff posted on Facebook is immediate, but hardly searchable or archived. Here today, gone tomorrow. Not a good thing if what you want to do is share information and record it where it can be found later. It seems that people are more interested in immediate gratification than permanence.
