Thanks for the reply Brad. When I started to drain form there, diesel started gushing out so it startled me and I had second thoughts about that being the drain plug. I had not experienced the oil being diluted before. Anyway, my visit to the property allowed me to check it once again, and indeed that plug is the drain on our Kama 554. I marked a 12oz squeeze bottle at the 10oz spot and drained the oil from that plug. About 8-1/2 oz came out, but I noticed the little dipstick read it was on the low mark. So when I refilled, I put in 9oz of 15w40 Delo and squeezed it back in. Checking the dipstick, 9oz is the perfect amount for my injector pump. Rob-

9 oz is good to remember. You don't have to fill thru the dipstick hole. The fill plug is under the plastic dust cap. Maybe you know that and just preferred not to wrench open the plug. Funny though I have a Swisher walk behind string trimmer and it is enclosed under the engine where the drain plug is so the only way to change oil is through the dipstick. I looked it up online and they actually suggested tipping the mower upside down to drain it! Brad

Ok, so I've never had that plastic fill cap off before. I told you I didn't know shit about the injector pump! This is all great information, I've learned all kinds of things about it now. It's funny that the instructions (or lack of) in my manuals didn't address the injector pump. Nothing was noted in them to let me know this information. Knowing however, that I had to change it periodically, I've managed to do so using those tricks ... hahaha. I guess they could have saved some money building mine without a fill cap or a drain plug, since I've used my vacuum pump and the squeeze bottle all this time... ;D What else can you share about the pump that would be good to know? Might as well ask now. Rob-
