Just a word of caution.....In the colder climates we had problems with the timing gears on engines with larger hydra pumps--320 or 322. They were not Chinese, but same type of drive.

Two questions Ray, Do you mean the pumps or the tractors were not Chinese? You lost me on the timing gears, could you explain ... which ones exactly? My hyd pumps are not timed, just a gear driven ratio to engine rpm, I believe. Thanks, Rob-

Hi Rob -
I have a KAMA TS354X. I have trouble with it puking hydraulic fluid out the fill cap also. I was curious about your extended fill cap. Did you tap your reservoir threads out to pipe thread for your bell reducer? Or did you sacrifice your old cap and put those threads on your extension? I was doing dirt work on a slope yesterday and it ran low enough that my loader quit working. Probably not too good on the pump if I were guessing.
Thanks Curt

Hi Kurt, I did not tap the filler/vent threads. My 554 seemed to take a 3/4"NPT pipe thread right into it. The bell you see has a 2" long 3/4 nipple which screws into the bell and the tank. Try a fitting into yours, otherwise just re-tap it to NPT. If you're going to do that, I'd suggest taking the seat and lid off the box so as not to get chips into the reservoir. Another trick is to use thick grease on your tap to catch the chips. Fill the flutes with it before tapping. Rob-

I bought one of the larger pumps some time back and plan on installing it this spring. At the same time I install my grapple.
