Ken (quikduk) recently posted a link to a seat belt supplier with retractable belts. I had been think of changing my stock belts for quite a while because they always hung there ... in the way of the position control and draft handles. The other side, the receptacle also hung down and I was for ever trying to find it. This was important to me because I ALWAYS use my seat belt. Here's what they looked like before. This is the receptacle on the OEM belt. This is the old seat belt. See how it hangs up and gets tangled with the 3pt levers?

I ordered from the link Ken provided and bought one of the ones he was looking at. They come in a variety of colors, and I got mine in Red. The belts come with their own hardware. I found attaching them to the frame of the seat worked best, instead of to the back of the seat where the old ones were bolted. I did have to space them out so they were wider than the bottom seat cushion. This is the NEW short receptacle. This is the NEW RETRACTABLE seat belt. Quite a bit cleaner huh? When you put it on, you can move around. It locks when there is an impact or higher rate of speed. It's like the good ones in your car. However, it does "catch" depending on how bumpy it is when you are moving. But it must relax again because it never "tightened up" on me and stayed that way.

Here is the link to the seat belt I bought. It is $34.95 plus the hardware ($1.95 if needed) and shipping. Wesco Retractable Tractor Seat BeltsI got model 209S (short housing belt) since at the time, I had a short, low seat. The steel end of the retractable belt ended up just below the top of the seat level ... out of the way so you don't hit your butt on it when you get in. I mounted the retractable portion on the right side, but you can mount them either way. I mounted them to the seat bracket which is bolted to the hydraulic box, so it is securely fastened. My OEM belts were fastened to the back of the seat with angled brackets. I thought this was odd because they tip up with the seat and I thought this was not too good. Why would they do that I thought? Thinking about it, they had to do that since the OEM belt is NOT retractable so once it's adjusted tightly around your gut, it would not extend out if you got up and pivoted the seat slightly forward. With these, you don't have to mount to the seat because they will release out to give you room to squirm around in the seat. Rob-

These are pictures of it installed. Before finding the right place and angles to bolt them, I tried out different positions to find the most comfortable one. You can match it to your gut. This is what it looks like when buckled up. The new belt is comfortable and good looking. Best of all it's not dangling all over the place when trying to work the levers. Even with me strapped in the old one, there was always the remnant slack left over that got tangled up. The new one is not like that and looks neat. It fits perfectly without anything dangling. I thought this might be of interest to some of you who did not get seat belts with the tractor. This is with me strapped in, ready to work. What do you think? Thanks for looking, Rob-

Hi Tommy, I saw that Loretta's 284 Jinma had one as OEM equipped and also Ken had one on his 354. My Kama did not, and as far as I know, Brad didn't even get any seat belt on his Kama. What about the other models you sell, do they all come with retractable belts like that? What about the Jinmas, DF and Fotons? Rob-
