I'm at the hotel in Hitachi at the end of a 10 day trip - heading home in about an hour. Sunday Kawase-san took us golfing at the Ibaraki Pacific Country Club where he has a membership. I'm a once a year golfer and hit a 130. Mike lives at Rock Barn and golfs all the time - he hit an 88. It was a beautiful day and the course was very scenic. After the group in front of us left the first tee I was suprised that they just walked away and left the cart. ???Then one of them turned around and pointed his remote and the cart started up and went down the path after them. The carts were remote control and followed a wire buried under the path. I put a couple of little cart videos on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7s1TSloQx8www.youtube.com/watch?v=heQkfiM0IkE&feature=related24 hours of train -bus -plane -plane -car -car and I'll be home ;D! Sharp eyes Rob. It sure looks like it. Personally, I was wondering if instead of a remote cart, it could come with it's own bar-maiden ready to offer a cold Saporro or hot saki at a moments notice... ;D ;D

Is that a left handed driver there? I don't know - he was invisible! Actually, I think that's just the bottom of the head visible. It was right handed. No girls at the country club but we did rock out Hitachi at the Big Echo Karaoke with some girls we met one nite. Sorry I didn't have the camera for that one.

Sorry, it must have been the angle-of-the-dangle of the photo. Too bad. I bet that was fun.

Brad, nice photo and videos of the cart. How come the steering wheel does not turn when it's remote controlled?

Brad, nice photo and videos of the cart. How come the steering wheel does not turn when it's remote controlled? Larry Probably to keep the riders from interfering with the operation.

I downloaded a couple of images of the ride home. The first leg of the trip we took the train from Hitachi to Mito, then caught the bus to the airport. Here is a video out the window of the train. Since I was actually holding the camera out the open window the sound bites. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLKHNOHg0dIHere is the view out the 747 upper deck window just after takeoff:
