Found Microsoft have a lot of new aerial photos online now, most areas seem to have newer photos than Google... maps.live.comThe high altitude "aerial" photo's (for the areas I've looked at) seem to be a year or 2 old.... I checked out Robs place, it wasn't hard to spot the 2 big solar panels: The "aerial" photos for my property are crap but the "Bird's eye" photos are impressive... The "Bird's eye" photos are taken from a low flying aircraft, the camera's are set at an angle rather than straight down, and they have 4 cameras, 1 pointing N, S, E, & W, so you can view your property from any direction if your area has been done... Here's a couple of different "Bird's eye" views of my shed as an example: Matthew

Hi Matthew and Merry Christmas to you too. How are things down in Australia? I hope the economy is better than it is here in the States. It's really good to see post again. I missed you.
BTW, thanks for link to the newer photos. Loretta has been looking for an updated photo of our place. In contrast, your place is crystal clear. Amazing the clarity of your place compared to mine. I've seen in the past Larry's place and it too shows more detail. I wonder if it's just because my place is in a very rural uninhabited area? Anyway, I hope to see more of you. Rob-

I have found that the more inhabited areas or areas of interest are in greater reolution. My place in OK only offers the satilite view where my house in MD offers the Birds Eye or arial photo. Pics of cities even offer 3D views of buildings.

My property in WV is about 25 yrs old by my guess. Psj12 is right about rual areas not being shot at a high resolution. I guess that can be good in some ways.
Big Brother is watching.
Merry Christmas all
