My stock oil sensor went out when I broke off one of the electric connecting posts. This happened when I was re-assembling the tractor after splitting it. I went to Napa and bought a mechanical oil gauge and finally installed it the other day. I installed a "T" into the oil sensing port and put the stock sensor in one outlet. Then I used some 1/4 pipe extensions and a cut-off hydraulic hose to run up over the fuel tank (under the body) and over to the dash board. Drilled a couple holes for the mounting screws and hose and then plumbed it up. I was also able to fix the stock sensor, so now I have 2 oil gauges. The stock gauge reads in MPa and the Napa gauge reads in PSI. Notice they are not exactly the same but close enough for me. I know with the mechanical gauge I still at least have oil pressure. Rob-

Hi Rob,
I always did like mechanical gages over electrical ones - they give me that warm and fuzzy feeling knowing the real pressure. Nice addition to Huge.
Hows the filter minder doing? Have you mowed much since installing that? I was wondering if that filter minder ever registered any blockage? As you know, I've got one on my tractor and Dozer - the one on the tractor has not budged since installing over a year ago. The one on the Dozer is reading at about 50%. I do stir up a lot more dust with the dozer though so that's no surprise.
BTW is your fuel gauge not working? seems like it's reading below zero.

Larry, you have sharp eyes. I bumped the fuel gauge terminals and knocked one off when I replaced the dash. I didn't notice it until after I posted the photos. I had to remove the dash again and fix it. My filter has stayed super clean because I have not done any bush hogging yet. I just checked it this morning after doing that breather mod a while ago. The filter is still clean so the filter minder has remained about where it was since you installed it. Well, I reset it once after bush hogging when it indicated restriction, but that was over 6 months ago. Thanks for commenting on the oil pressure gauge too. Rob-

Geez Larry, I just worked the Kama again today separating those giant brush piles. Guess what ... the filter minder is now reading about 50% plugged up. I'll have to check the air filter now. Thanks for jinxing me Larry... ;D Rob-

Well, it's only clogged up 50% but I'm sure the breather vent mod is a contributing factor. The filter is now like one of those you spray a light film of oil on ... like on the K & N air filters I had on the Harleys. In fact, it should be more better that way ... hahaha. The stock filter is dry and this way I know my air filter is filtering and I also know my Filter Minder works good. I sure don't mind cleaning it though. I just wash it out with soap and water and let it dry. I bought some spares from Chip a while ago so I will stick a new one in while the old one is being washed and dried. BTW, does anybody know where the fuel gauge sending unit is located on my 554 Kama? The gauge "flickers" once in a while now. The "flickering" is intermittent, not constant. It's not the connection at the gauge so I want to check where it's attached to the fuel tank. Where is it and what do I need to take off to get to it? Thanks, Rob-
