........ He must have made a mistake sending his new chainsaw sharpener. . . ...... You lucky dog, you must remember Rob is an old geezer now and has a habit of just throwing in anything that fits into the box. Lucky you he "just happened" to have that sharpener handy. ;D Rob, that sure was swell, you always go the extra mile to make someone smile! Larry

Well I tried the hose from Rob and it didn't fit. Looking over Rob's post (over at TBN) it looks like I got the older bullet type metal connector on the loader. Replace the washer with one that Rob sent but the leak is a the swivel. Here's a picture of the hoses -Ed Rob's hose is on the left

Ed, I'm sorry to hear the hoses don't fit. Is there an adapter (connector) available for flat face seal (on your valve) to the bullet nose seal on the hoses? I think they screw into the valve body and can be changed out? Rob-

Rob, It's not your fault that the chinese love to mix the pot! Didnot think about adapters was considering seeing if I can find a hydraulic shop and see if they can move one fitting to the other hose. BTW all the numbers are the same on the hoses. Still surprised that I got "old" style fittings, with a new style valve. Thanks Ed

Yes there are fittings to adapt the flat face to bullet style.
I might even have some...or at least some that will work. I'll check tonight and post tomorrow or so.
FWIW, The Chinese hoses (new style) are "like" an ORFS (O-ring face seal) but not exactly. I'll have to dig up my schematics and notes but I sorted all of this out. The ORFS is a Metric Straight Thread fitting (no taper). Since I changed all of my hoses to either JIC or JIC hard-lines (by me), I only had to adapt the existing 4 Chinese loader hard lines to my new hoses. I found some adapters (female/male) at my local hyd. shop that screwed on the hard lines and gave me a JIC-6M end...I think.
In fact, now that I think a bit more, the adapters for the new style hard lines were JIC-6M to M18x1.5F (straight thread).
Just the same though, I think I may have the adapters you need for the loader lines so let me take a look. If not, the "bullet" end is either a JIC (37 degree) or SAE (45 degree) thread. I should say that I even have a French fitting on my hyd. return hard line so WTF? I will look at my fittings and charts/pics to see what is around. I would bet though (using Rob or Larry's money thankyouverymuch... ;D ) that you could get a female flare to metric straight thread (or ORFS) adapter. The hard lines are either a -8 (1/2") or -6 (3/8") equivalent.
Your local hyd shop (if you have one) should be able to "lend" you some fittings for fitment.
Oh, when you post your pics, make them "image clickable thumbnails" for forums and message boards so we can enlarge them for a better look-see.
BFN.
Ken

Hey Ed, I just got the mail and received your nice "Thank You" card plus your check for the postage. I feel sort of bad because the hose ends didn't fit your valve though. Hopefully you'll be able to sort it out with a couple adapters? Thanks again Ed! Rob-

Rob glad you got the check. If I was smart enough I would have check your excellent thread on the loader valve against what I had but we both know what happens when you "ass-u-me" So it is me that drop the ball on this one. However Ken is on the case so . .
Ken thanks for the help (in advance) I am still stumbling though Photo bucket in fact I thought I posted a smaller picture for the "dial-up" guys. I ran away from the internet because of dial-up too much to do to wait for a download. -Ed

Wow! and look what I got today! I am soooooo excited! Thank you so much, Ed! I can hardly wait until Rob gets my tractor done, so I can get my vegetable garden area fixed up so I can plant! We also picked up some fruit trees that I'll plant around the garden, too. I think we've decided to plant in the 'homesite circle', but we need to level it out, and then rototill, add compost (15 yards sitting in a gigantic pile for months), dig the holes, and then put in 'gopher baskets'. I decided not to buy individual gopher baskets, because they're so expensive, and I bought a whole roll of chicken wire instead..... And then discovered that the 1" mesh that chicken wire has is probably too big and the gophers can get right through. So I guess I'll do a double layer, offset, so the holes aren't as big. Thanks again, Ed. I can hardly wait!

Loretta- Glad you got the seeds! Didn't know what you liked so I grabbed a packet of each one! When the weather breaks I post pictures of where I be planting. This week I be starting my seeds inside.
This past summer I moved the retaining wall and installed steps. Maybe 4' of wall and 4' high fence will stop the wildlife (mostly deer) from eating the plants. Nothing tastes better than homegrown! Good luck -Ed
