What's happened here? Where's all the posters? I know there's some interesting stories out there. Don't tell me everyone tractors are running perfect! No complaints? No how do I fix this? Good grief, there's gotta be some BS out there somewhere. PJ

Hi PJ, Sorry, but I've been reading the posts everyday with not much to contribute. Loretta and I have been so darn busy gathering, cutting and splitting wood for the last month preparing for Winter. I'll post a few pics about that later.
One major pain is that my Kama, which has been having excessive blow by, is now losing oil pressure. I'm going to tear it apart to replace the rings, do a complete head job with new valves and guides etc, and maybe cylinder sleeves if needed. Once I get it apart I can asses better. It's got 714 hours on the meter which is a bit early for the 1000 hour maintenance where they recommend removing the head and servicing it. But because of the way my hour meter works (via rpms and not just time), and considering the time it didn't work for a while, I might really have closer to a thousand hours on it already?
Even though I've put hard hours on it, I'm disappointed that I've got to do this now with as little hours as it has. When I get to that chore, I'll be sure to take some photos and post a story about it. Rob-

Rob, It sure would be nice if you could post some pictures on the rebuild. I'm sure there's a few fellows that would be very interested in seeing that. I know I would. Engine rebuilding techniques has a way of flowing over into other engine makes. Keep chopping the wood, it looks like it's going to be a cold winter, I'm sorry to say. Nothing like setting by a warm fire in the winter time. PJ

Well, I don't have any excuses like needing to get firewood cut. (grin) I've just been working on other stuff lately, but soon enough I'll get back to the tractor which does have a minor (I hope) problem.
A couple weeks ago I was mowing the orchards and it started smoking when going downhill - gray or blue smoke it looks like, definitely not black. Hasn't done this before. At first it was just whe going down a steep hill, but after a while it got to where it is now smoking a bit anytime I give it throttle. Once up to rpm it doesn't smoke.
I need to do the head re-torque and check the injector pump timing, if I can figure out how to do that. The pump, I mean. I do know how to torque a head.
I have been using an injector cleaner additive, but it seems to make no difference as far as I can tell. Air cleaner is clean. Tractor is clean, actually, though that doesn't mean much. :-)
Any ideas will be appreciated. If someone wants to come down and just fix it that would be appreciated even more. (grin)

Rich, I know this might sound juvenile but, the crankcase isn't over full with oil is it? I had a 6 cyl Chevy once that would do that when braking hard unless I kept the oil level a little below the full mark.
