Well the injectors are not working very well so I took them to a shop to see if they could be rebuilt. They said they were bad & were not able to rebuild them. Ordered new ones, cheaper that I thought, & a new pump. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to flush or push some fuel through the system before connecting to the new injectors. What are your thoughts???

Are you changing fuel filter once a year? How many hours on this machine? Injectors should last a long time, with clean fuel. What series engine do you have? Lots of questions!!!!!!!! If the fuel has been sitting around for a year or 2, flush it out and get fresh. 6 months is OK, use it as long as it is perfectly clean. Don't use the Chinese fuel filter!!!! Be sure to clean injector holes in head very clean...use a brush and then a rag twisted around a large screw driver. Replace the washer under the injector, make sure to remove old washer...don't have 2 washers under the injector.

I just bought this machine in the late Fall. Two trees fell on it last spring. My friend Nick is a retired mechanic. Kind of reminds me of a kid in a candy store. Short story is all the sheetmetal is bent, radiator, all the lights & plastic, battery's, some fuel lines, Exhaust manifold, dash, ect.... BUT all I am looking for is usable tractor, mostly brush hog. The cosmetic looks are not important, safty is. So I picked it up for $2200. Its a 40hp Fujian. This is all new to me so I am in school every day. This board has been very helpful. Hour meter 195. Fuel line broken, replaced now. Engine is SL3105. Engine was frozen when I got it. We now have it running but would not take the throttle. Had the injectors in the shop & they confirmed they were bad. Today Nick & I will install the new injectors & pump. Pictures of old stuff. And I got a 6foot brush hog, 6.5foot box & a boom with it.

Well the new injectors & pump are installed. Did not fix the problem. To keep the engine running we have to pump the primer. Nick went home to get electric fuel pump to put inline to see if that would keep it running. While he was gone I replaced the fuel filter, no difference. THEN I took the fuel line from the filter that feeds the injector pump lose at the injector side first, a couple drops of fuel, when I took the line lose at the filter side I got sprayed with fuel. I don't know how a fuel line can get plugged up in the middle with out some indication of why but this one did. We took a ride to the auto parts, bought some fuel line & 2 clamps for temporary fix & BINGO. After about 15 minutes the smoke clears & seems to run much better. Not perfect but I can live with it now. Took it for a ride down the street & back, trying the gears, all seems good. Now that the pressure is off I can start working on a muffler & lights & finish the fender.

Hope you saved all the old injectors and pump. They are probably OK.

The pump is probably ok but the injectors were tested & not good. However I plan on keeping that stuff for a while. Want to open one up just because I am curious.

Good job Roy, Clogged fuel lines are actually a common problem with Chinese tractors.
Thanks for posting - I'm enjoying your progress. I think you'll end up with a good tractor at a great price.

This is the line that feeds the injector pump, so how does that work? It comes from the filter, that should make it the cleanest I would think. I thought about cutting it open to see what was in it but have not done that, but I will.
If this is common I should be looking for an alternative fuel line rather than replace it with china stuff. Any how I will post what I find in it.

OK I went out & cut the line open expecting to find a clod of something, not there. Looks like the hose just decided to swell shut for about 4 inches. What could cause that? Something in the fuel that should not be there, wrong additive?

Well I pulled the temp line that we made & got measurements of the banjo ends & sent email to Jerry @ affordable tractors to send me one but have not heard form him, guess I will have to use the phone tomorrow. We made some more progress today. Nick found a piece of 1/2" plate & made up the exhaust stuff, bought new studs & nuts. Runs better with a little back pressure. Nick was given the muffler for free, tractor sounds better.

The fender was a real mess. After cutting it & reworking it a bit I put it on the tractor, beat it some more. Took it off again & started reinforcing the supports again. Then I decided to cut open an area so I could get in to work on anything without pulling a lot of stuff off again, that is still a work in progress. All I have for welding is a AC buzz box or torch. What kind of rod are you guys running on AC? Nick said they make an AC 7018. Keep warm.

Looking for some help with the oil for the fuel injector pump. Cannot find anything in the books about how to fill/replace the oil for the injector pump. There is no dip stick to check the oil level that I can find. I need to know where & how much oil to put in the darn thing. ( after cleaning it a bit first. picture was taken before new primer pump & injectors were put in. )

I'm at work so I can't see your picture. There should be a large vented plug on top - on my Kama it has a plastic cover. That is the fill plug.
There should be one or more small drain plugs on the very bottom of the pump.
If you don't have a dipstick there should be a small overflow plug about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom. After you drain the oil and replace the drain plug, you just fill the case until oil starts to come out of the overflow plug. The amount of oil is very roughly 1 cup (1/2 pint).
On mine this is all on the left end of the pump, away from the end where the primer pump is.
