Thanks for your response Larry ... Your questions below: -On your Kama is it just the tach that's intermittent? The fuel gauge jumps around too, but the other gauges (water temp and voltmeter) work fine.-Are the fuel and temp gauges dropping out as well? No, they are OK-How about the hour meter, does it still clock hours when the tach is not reading RPM's? Yes it does, but according to my watch, it records less hours than actual. I usually work the tractor between 1500rpm to 1800rpm.
-I wonder if your flywheel sensor is going out? Try heating it up with a heat gun to see if it has any affect on it working as soon as you start the tractor. There is always the banging on it with a wrench to beat it into working as an option. I will try that later this week. Thanks again Larry. Rob- Rob, Thanks for answering all those questions, you must have felt like it was an interrogation of something. Anyway those answers lead me to believe the Tach Meter on the dash or what drives the indicator needle itself is the culprit. The reason I say that is because the hour meter is working and it's tied to RPM's which come from the flywheel sensor (and so does the meter needle indicator) Start with the dash, tap on it with your finger when the tach is not moving to see what happens. Next pull out the cluster gauge assembly far enough to wiggle all the wire connections and connectors with it running to see if you get a response. You have a good chance of getting lucky and finding it. Larry

I have a number of sizes of hammers. HaHaHa, You can fix anything with hammers! Sort of like the motto: "There is no problem that cannot be solved by the use of high explosives" Larry
