Last time I fueled up the Foton, I forgot to add the 2 oz of "Power Service" fuel additive in the fuel. Not thinking about it, I started to mow 20 acres, which I can easily do on one tank of fuel. After mowing 16 acres, I was getting super low on fuel and headed back to the barn to fuel up and trying to figure out why I couldn't do the whole 20. It was the elimination of the PS Diesel booster! The stuff works! The engine runs smoother and has more power using the additive, plus, because the engine has more power and runs with less effort, it gives a couple more hours of run time. It won't be forgotten again! PJ

Rich, It cost around 16 to 18 bucks for a container that treats around 250 gallons of fuel. It has to be good for the engine because it runs easier and with less effort. I'll never be without the stuff again. www.powerservice.com/dfs/

Thanks for the picture, now I know what to look for. I may wind up having to order it and have it sent on the boat though, we don't have much in the way of diesel supplies down here.

Before you buy Rich, you may want to read this; www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177728 I still have my original bottle of PS but have cut the dosage in half after reading some negative comments about it -Ed Any bio-diesel available on the island? (came out first for wear reduction)

Not trying to sound pissy in any way, but I've been around diesel engines all my adult life. I know how to take them apart and rebuild them. Over the years I've read various reports about recommendations for fuels, fuel additives, oils, engine and hydraulic and if you get reports from 10 different organizations, you'll get 10 different reports and none will be exactly the same. I listen to farmers and users of diesel engines, not someone who does a test in a operating room clean lab under pristine conditions. When a diesel engine runs smoother, has more power, uses less fuel by using an additive in the fuel that in essence is good for the engine and making it last longer, I'll use it! You can buy additives that cost twice as much and don't work a damn bit better. I know, I've tried them. Also, don't think that the manufactures of fuel additives use independent testing facilities that are unbiased. Where do you think the facility gets their money from? Yup, the manufacture. Tractors cost a lot of money, so take the word of people who use a product, not the ones who make it and you'll be a hell of a lot better off! JMHO. And that's 60+ years of being around diesels. PJ

Hey Rich, Are there any automotive parts stores you can visit near you? If so, they just might have, or can get the additives you want. Over here on the mainland, just about every parts store carries it ... all kinds of brands. Even the Wallmarts.
I've been using Power Service myself for the last 5 years now. Rob-

Rob,
Yeah, we have a NAPA store and a few little independents. Someone might be able to get it, the question is, will they? Not that helpful in general I've found. I'll do some looking and asking.
Thanks!
