I have an '08 TE254 with 200 hrs on it. The clutch linkage adjustment is to the end and still I dont have enought travel to disengage the PTO clutch. Right after I adjusted the linkage it seemed to be ok but the freeplay returned to the previous condition shortly after use (1hr). looking at other posts on other forums and looking at my parts book, I'm wondering if it could be a spring pin problem on the clutch fork? Any Ideas? thanks

You need to check the entire linkage from one end to the other, making sure that all the roll pins (spring pins) that secure things to shafts have not sheared. This shearing of pins is common to Chinese tractors, apparently.
You may have to open the clutch assembly access cover and check the clutch adjustment, too. The procedure for adjusting the clutch is posted elsewhere here, at least for the Jinma tractors and yours is probably much the same.

Yep, and if it isn't those than you're going to have to go through the clutch assembly and adjust the finger clearances to spec, then reset the linkage for proper free play.

Well, I spent the better part of the day at this issue and found that the FEL bracket and the cab mount is bolted to the place where the inspection cover should be. We removed all that stuff on the LH side of the tractor and found the hole to be cast solid, ie not cut out. Maybe the inspection port on the right is cut out? haven't got to that yet and I will call the service center before dissassembly again. One thing we did find was another rod hooked to the clutch lever going to the top rear of the transmission that was rubbing against the handbrake cable limiting travel. We adjusted the bracket holding the cable and allowed full travel of this rod and the PTO clutch now works, although all my adjustment of rod # 10 is all used up. I still need to look inside to see whats going on.

Generally speaking, the access port would be o the same side the starter is mounted on.
