Any current 354 owners wish you bought the 554 with a lot more power instead? I'm going to get one soon. I already got a little dozer to do most of the dirt work. I need something with a FEL to play around. I have no idea what all my specific uses yet. Just want to have one.... ;D ;D ;D
Right now, I'm thinking the 354 will work for me. The only concern would be the FEL may not be strong enough. Do you think I will regret for not going with the bigger tractor?
Thanks,
Tom

Hi, I'm Rob and I'm a tractorholic... You've just described the fear every man goes through when he decides to buy one model but there are larger ones available. From what I know and have seen myself, a 354 will do 99% of everything you ever wanted from a tractor. The 1% is there for those times when the 354 just does not have enough power for that one thing. But that applies to the 554, since it has limitations too, and so on and so on, since there is a 654, 754, 854 etc. I know... So where would you stop then?
You just have to convince yourself that the chores you have to do ... the reason you chose that tractor, can be done with the tractor you picked out.
Apply the Serenity Prayer of Tractorholics:
"God grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And wisdom to know the difference."
Just substitute "things" with chores or landscape or boulders or hay bales etc. For example: "God grant me the serenity To accept the landscape I cannot change; Courage to change the landscape I can; And wisdom to know when to use the dozer or rent."
You will remain anonymous and just send fifty bucks to my house. Rob-

I see this is a few days old but I would like to add to it. What Rob said rings dead true. I use my tractor for work and at our property. I do often wish it was bigger when at my property. But the flip side of that is where I make my money WORK and there its just right. Sometimes I wish I had a smaller tractor too. But theres the clinch I have several garden tractors that handle those jobs. If I had a dozer I wouldn't even think of anything bigger. Not unless I knew I had lots of big work for it at home or for $$$. I have not done nearly the mods of most of these guys but I do work my tractor. I have over 200 hours in just a year. We just got our land in Jan. so this year it wouldn't surprise me if I did over 1000 hours. Its like my right arm sure I could live without it but I'd never get anything done. Good LUCK KIDD
