Stood up the lift columns and started the rehab process, this is an awkward heavy piece of equipment.

Got the final piece lifted and bolted into place between the two lift posts.

The lift was a challenge, I was able to restore the rusty ribbon chains with $40 worth of Kerosene and many days of soaking and working the links. Yesterday I found a lift repair place 22miles away that made me a binded copy of the owners manual for my lift for $35 from a disk library they have. First important piece of lost knowledge was that this lift uses 10w30 motor oil instead of hydraulic fluid, three gallons of it. I presently have a jury rigged temp feed running to it. Seems to work well and goes up in about 35 seconds, that is without a car on it. Paul

The Eagle Has Landed, it took a while but finally found an antique cast metal Eagle of the appropriate dimensions for the top trim piece.

Three of the lights were 70 watt High Pressure Sodium, I did not like the orange light they put out so I converted them to 100 watt Metal Halide. Now I have a 175 watt Metal Halide and three 100 watt Metal Halides. I also have two 150 watt equivalent Compact Fluorescents that act as the quick in and out lights.

Got my pickup on the lift for the 1st time and spent a little time under it with a drop light and a small hammer. I discovered it`s getting very close to time to get a new truck, the PA road salt has worked it`s magic and eaten my truck almost to death. Paul

Well the steel Tractor Barn made it through it`s first Hurricane unscathed, I `m more than impressed with the quality of this steel building manufacturer.

Been trying to get organized and give the place a little personality, I already used the lift to repair my 4 wheel drive in my Ford pickup that quit last winter, also two oil changes and tomorrow the Bride`s car gets new Perelli tires. Paul

Paul, you need one of those 1950's pinup calendars where the girl's bathing suit lifts up with the cellophane. Every good redneck garage needs one of those and I'm frankly appalled that they're no longer being printed. It's a crime against true Americana, I say! ;D
