I wonder why there seems to be a lot less posts here than a year ago? Maybe it's me, but I drop in at least once a week and see only one or two new posts a month. I enjoy reading about problems and solutions that other folks have with their equipment. They are very educational. Wish there were more. PJ

There seem to be a lot fewer dealers selling tractors. My recollection is that when I bought my Jinma, five years ago, you could go on Ebay and search and find a hundred or more listings of new chinese tractors. Now they're all gone, the only listings are for used tractors FSBO.
I'm not sure if the dealers are gone or if they have just given up on selling over the internet and now concentrate on local sales. I'll put out the theory that a lot of the traffic on a list like this comes from either prospective buyers, new owners, or dealers looking to drum up sales.
I'll also add that other sites -- CTOA and the Chinese tractor section of TBN -- seem to have a similar fall-off.

My observation is since Larry and Rob stopped posting, all activity has dropped off. Most everyone was interested in their detailed posts. That seemed to motivate others to post their own detailed posts of their activities. They never posted on CTOA, but I think that their lack of posting on TBN has also affected that site. RonJ

The CTOA is a peculiar forum. You can be on the forum for a long period of time, months and one day you find out your banned for some unknown reason and can get no explanation why. I think they don't like their members belonging to other forums. Dictatorship? You be the judge. PJ

I suppose I am partly to blame, I just don't get to the Farm much these days and it must be months since I started the Tractor. We just threw ourselves into getting the house in order to the detriment of most all else. The earthquake did so much damage and the house is more than 8,000 square feet AND I had a replacement knee a few months back, so, I haven't been posting much at all. I read above that Larry and Rob had stopped posting. Any reason for this ? Dick

I too am amazed at how chinese tractor listings have evaporated from ebay, I suspect the financial dynamic has changed. My friend who travels to china every few months for his employer no longer comes home with handmade suits and pearl jewelry that he got for a song. He said when he started going there 7-8yrs ago he could get three handmade tailored suits for $99US, his last trip there less than a month ago he paid $32US for a Big Mac meal at a chinese McDonalds, and he said the meat patties were even smaller than they are here. He now comes home with nothing as there are no bargains to be had, not if you are paying in Greenbacks.

I just looked on TBN and Rob last posted there in mid-October. He just stopped abruptly. Considering he had been posting there and here several times a day for years, I wonder if something is wrong.

I just read this morning that china is now, or going to, impose a tax on American cars imported to china. How about if we impose a high tax on china's products coming into the states! That would include American manufactures over there shipping there products back, like John Deere! PJ

RonJ Larry & Rob were both very active on CTOCF and both were moderators. This site was pretty much launched in response to everyone getting banned in a CTOCF meltdown. Rob posted some nice updates to his log home thread on TBN this summer. Edit: changed CTOA to CTOCF. PJ's post on 12/7 made me think of that forum.

Thanks for the update Brad, I checked out Robs latest updates on TBN, glad to see he is alive and well. I was more than amazed at his latest accomplishments, I wish I had half of his energy.

Brad and PJ- I have been on CTOA (Chinese Tractor Owners Association) for many years and don't believe that that is the site you mean. I suspect that you may mean the CHINESE TRACTOR OWNERS CLUB FORUM where someone named Joe is the Moderator. My understanding when I joined this site was that was where Larry and Rob moved from to help create this site. RonJ

As I recall it Rich it didn`t take much to get excommunicated, quite a shame, for a while it wasn`t a bad forum.

It really is a shame Paul, as there is certainly information there that could benefit a lot of owners.
Thankfully, there are guys like Rob and Larry and others who are more friendly and have the knowledge to set up a forum such as this. I do wish CTW had a wider base, but the folks here do seem to represent an incredible trove of experience and knowledge they are willing to share freely.

Very well stated Rich, that just about nails it about CTOCF. From catching up with Robs posts on TBN he didn`t have the best of internet connections for a while and fell behind in his postings, apparently he has also trimmed some of the forums he is posting to. He appears to have been busy as a "One Armed Wallpaper Hanger" working on his compound and as always achieving amazing results, I wish I knew what that man has forgot, as the old saying goes.
