WET, WET, WET!!! As a lot of you know, Eastern Oklahoma, is being pummeled with record setting rains! Supposed to rain most of the week. Our farm is high and dry, well, maybe not dry, but not flooded as a lot of folks are. 8 inches so far and much more to come. No getting in the fields now! We needed the rain desperately, soil very dry, reservoirs low, but not this amount in such a short period of time. PJ

The weather has been crazy everywhere this year, hasn't it? Hopefully you'll fill the reservoirs and not have too much flood damage along the way.

They tell us that the final count in our little town of Locust Grove and our neighboring town of Salina, a total of 11 inches has fallen. So many roads have been shut down due to flooding, the DOT has run out of barricades to place in the road ways. Were lucky due to our high ground, some folks near rivers and in the low lying areas are in a bad way. Our 2 acre pond is over flowing, the first time in many years.

Well, from one extreme to another! Now we need rain so bad and none is forecast. Texas ranchers selling stock to survive. No water means no crops to feed the livestock. Everything is burning up here in OK also. One of the worst droughts since the 30s. This has been an amazing year that has set many records. Hope the coming season is more favorable to the Rancher/Farmer. A lot of people don't know that this type of weather pattern controls what we pay at the grocery store. Some think the farmer is getting rich because of high food prices, needless to say those who think that know nothing of farming/ranching and live in fantasy land. PJ

The weather here in the Santa Cruz mountains in CA has been crazy to the opposite effect. During the prior 2 rainy seasons we averaged about 50". This season we got about 20". Now in July we are quite cold in the 40's to 50's at night and wearing jackets all morning. Coldest spring/summer I can recall.
