Well now I've done it. I was minding my own business the other day by driving my tractor off my trailer to help my FIL move some dirt when all of a sudden the engine made a loud BANG, then CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK. I tried to start it twice to pinpoint the sound. BIG MISTAKE. It won't turn over at all now.
I have a very bad feeling that one of the following happened:
1. blown clutch (possible but the sound came from the pan). 2. broken connecting rod/piston. 3. broken crankshaft
I called Tommy at Affordable Tractor but I will have to get things torn apart first to see what let go. This is complicated by the fact that the side of the garage where I need to park the tractor is filled with other projects and their materials as well as the fact that I can't get the loader and box scraper up enough to get the tractor off of the trailer (we dragged it back on with my FIL's old Massey TO-30.
I have a plan though. That is to use my BIL's John Deere to lift the loader and box (once I put them in the float position), then lock them back so I can get the tractor off the trailer to level ground. Then I have to disconnect both and get them out of the way. Then I have to tow the tractor to the top of my driveway so I can "coast" into the garage (canopy/ROPS down of course).
I'll post more when I can but it may be a while.
This sucks big time but at least I should be able to figure out whats wrong and hopefully repair it.
PBthtttt!!!!!
