We live in a modular home made by a company called New Era, once the Cadillac of modulars, since then they have been bought out by an outfit called Champion homes who build crap. www.new-era-homes.comI took this two-box cape cod from them on three trailers,(one trailer held the dormers) right from the factory and completed it myself. It is built on a Superior walls modular basement system which is great. I hired the cranes, a 170ton the first day, and a 120ton the second day. and the rough-set crew who set the house and close the roof. After that it has been all me, the 400amp elec service, 270 feet copper water pipe, (also bought at it`s all time price high) the interior finishing of the first floor and etc. The second floor was panelized and was stood up on site, hence it`s a bare and naked shell. This is the second modular home I have constructed acting as my own builder and I think it is the way to go. However the first one was easier, I was 36 then, now at 51 it`s a lot slower and this house is twice the size of the first. Here`s half a house coming down our access road (of course it snowed)

The boulder or as they are called here (Goonie) in the foreground is the biggest rock my friend and excavator ever got out of a basement dig without blasting. It took his largest excavator and his 18ton crawler working together to nudge it out of the basement. This is my dear friend of 17years and excavator Charlie and his 18ton crawler. We named our new puppy Charlie in his honor, he is a true "Prince" of a man,
