Well, I've used the box blade enough, (and hung it on some roots) to loosen the CAT 1 bolts. Before I run to Harbor Freight ;D, What size is that nut? I thought I had something to use, but could only find a crescent wrench that would fit it. I tightened the bolts on the mower, but could not get to the box blade.
Of course, I couldn't measure it in the woods, and forgot to bring a nut from the mower back with me!
Gives me an excuse to buy some box end wrenches or sockets!!

I just got through tightening Loretta's boxblade. 1-ΒΌ is too small and 1-3/8" is too big but will work. (That's what I used.) 1-3/16" should be the size. Rob-

Thanks,
I couldn't get the crescent wrench on the nut for the box blade, so I'll need a box end or socket.
Its Tool time!

Aubrey A socket would be the best choice, but like I said, I think it's 1-3/16" or the Metric equivalent, but none of my Metric box wrenches fit either. I think 30mm was too small and 32 was too big and the 1-1/4" fit better. Her lift pins were made in India, but I think they are SAE, or 31mm maybe? Harbor Freight had (a while ago) those giant open end/box end wrench sets on sale for 27 bucks a set. The Metric are 35, 38, 41, 45, 48, and 50mm. The SAE go from 1-3/8'', 1-1/2'', 1-5/8'', 1-3/4'', 1-7/8'', 2'' . (No 1-3/16", dang) Rob-

I bought the 1 1/4 socket, the nut fit right in. Drove out to the property last weekend, and forgot to bring the 1/2 drive So I tightened it back the best I could with the crescent wrench. Managed to dig across the creek and almost to the other side without any problems. Just have to remember to bring some tools next time. I kinda timid to leave tools out in the woods, they can walk away fairly easy. The tractor would at least raise a couple of eyebrows for the neighbors, since they know I only go there on the weekends. A couple of more years I'll build the house out there and won't have to worry about leaving something behind. Thanks, Aubrey

Hey Aubry, I used to freak out having to leave anything at my property. Heck, I used to break camp every weekend and reset the next time up. I got tired of it and started leaving the tents there, and then some tools and then other stuff ... even my camp guns. I still worried about them though. The good thing is I never had anything taken over the 4 years we camped like that. We would go up for weekends only twice a month. So I guess we were lucky in that respect.
Now, about the socket, you said the 1-1/4" went on, but was it loose? I know the 1-1/4" open end wrench I used was a little loose on the nut. I'll have to actually measure that nut just to know. Anyway, be sure you bring your 1/2" drive up there, because those lift pins need to be SUPER tight or they will work themselves loose. Use Locktight too. Rob-

Yup, I'm going to make up another tool box to leave out there. When I drove the older truck it was easy not to forgoet, since I had the tool box mainly for the truck. I'll need to check again, pretty sure it was 1 1/4, but I did manage to leave the socket out in the woods! When I say woods, its a 10X14 cabin I made, got tired of the tents. I'll have to get some pics sometimes. Thanks again
