Are Chinese manufacturers Metric Consistent? Our Foton Europard FT404 tractor came supplied with the TZ04D-404 Front End Loader (FEL). Unfortunately, I did break one of the Zerk grease nipples on the FEL. So now my question is what is the replacement for these Zerks. What's the thread size?• M10x1 • M10x1.5 • 3/8 BSF • 3/8 BSP Hydraulic Nipple • 3/8 UNF • NPT thread? • any other thread size?? Regarding the tractor itself, what are the thread size of the grease nipples here? Probably metric as well?? P.S. I have tried M10x1 on the FEL, but it did not fit perfect. I therefore wonder what are the replacement?

I`ve used NPT that the auto mechanic at my job had given me and they fit just fine, they definitely weren`t metric. Nice looking tractor there, best of luck with it.

linus69: -Was that on the Jinma 284 tractor itself, or on the original Jinma front end loader, the ZL-20 FEL? -Yes, the FT404 is a nice and powerful tractor, once you learn how to use the gearbox with all the four gearsticks (incl. FWA enable).

Like my buddy Paul, I have replaced a few grease fitting here and there. My Jinma uses 1/8"-27 NPT thread fittings - go figure, I bought a large Metric assortment of grease fittings and have yet to use a single one. My assortment of "English" (SAE) grease fittings is getting low. Larry

I`ve used them on the Jinma 284 tractor, the ZL-20 FEL and on the Italian made Mazzotti backhoe, I didn`t break all of them off, only the one on the backhoe. Some of the original chinese zerks did not want to take any grease, and in some spots a 45deg angle zerk worked better for me.

Are Chinese manufacturers Metric Consistent? Almost, with the exception for the Quick Disconnect hydraulic outlets, and the dimensions of tyres. Regarding the Zerks, they seem to all be metric on our Foton tractor: - M10 x 1
- M8 x 1 (some are 45º angled)
- M6 x 1
All the zerks on the FEL are of the same type: M10 x 1. Eleven on each side, making a total of 22 zerks.

On my KAMA I had very course thread fittings that were semi screwed (forced) into much finer threaded holes. I found this while replacing my front steer cylinder. The metric fittings from HF fit much better.

1/8" NPT is almost the same size as M10x1.0 The nominal dimensions are 0.407 inches x 27 threads per inch which is like M10.3x0.94. Since the NPT threads are tapered, I'm sure the 2 sizes will thread together. 1/8" NPT fits my Kama well. 1/4-28 is the other most common inch size for zerks. Pretty close to M6x1.0 You just have to press the male threads together to see if they are the same. www.engineeringtoolbox.com/npt-national-pipe-taper-threads-d_750.html
