The Y480 engine is the same as the Y380 with a extra cylinder, we do not have any parts books for the Y480 or Y485 My guy in China says to use the Y380 book and add a cylinder ?? Tommy Affordable Tractor Sales " Your Jinma Parts Superstore" www.affordabletractorsalesco.com

Bud what are you trying to figure out, the Y385 and the Y485 are the same too other than a extra cylinder, most of the parts are the same also.
The Y480 engines are not as common as the TY395 engines are, so we are limited on information too

Thanks Tommy, You have been a big help along with others on this board. Slow but sure I'm learning more and more. My problem is I'm trying to turn this into a show piece instead of a china tractor. I have to say it looks good. If I can learn how I will post pictures.

I just replaced my old thermostat in my 2006-304. It was running around 43c so i needed more heat. I found one that fit perfect and operated perfect. I used a STANT 45358 and it went to 82c with no problem.

Hi Rich, I'm finally getting around to do a few things to the 304. I replaced the headlite bulbs with a Sylvania #9003/hb2. They put out much more light then the factory ones.
You have to bend off two of the tabs and do a little work with a file but they do fit nice. I bought then at Advance auto for $10.99 each.
I put new gages in front of the steering wheel That need to be hooked uo. I will try and put some pictures on the board.

Boy have a had a nasty couple of days with my tractors. I wanted to put in the Ford switch that I had gotten from Larry. I read his post about 3 times and made a copy of the picture of the Ford Switch. I got the old one out and switched wires to the new one and tried to start the 304 with no luck. I figured if I switched the to main wires it would start, and it did. Boy did I get lucky. I thought I should adjust the clutch and get ready to plow some snow. While I had it running I would back out of the Koyker160 to get the bracket off. I do not know what happened but it was to high in the air and scratched the heck out of the muffler. I turned the 304 off to investigate the situation. After looking things over I had to pull ahead and start over. I hit the key and nothing, I tried it again and still nothing. Then it dawned on me, maybe I should have done more home work before I switched the wires. I piked up the hood and saw that the fuse block was a melted mess. I disconnected the battery and called Affordable for a new fuse block and some other parts I had wanted to change out. Today I took the radiator out and had it flushed and painted, put a new thermo. in with all new hoses and adjusted the clutch system. I also have my new gauges hooked up. I will start working on some new flood lights that I will mount in the canopy for plowing on alumn. channel. After I fried the switch I decided to get the ac-ca out and mow grass. All that happed when I hit the starter and nothing but a whine. The starter needs rebuilt. I hope things get better.

After fixing the wiring I tried to start the 304 with no success. All it wanted to do is turn over 1 rev. and the started with click. I charged the bat. and tried again, nothing. I tested the battery and it was very good so I thought it had to be the starter. The shop said that was not the problem. I emailed Larry to see what he thought. I told him what I already looked for. He said make sure your bucket hose is connected. Guess what is wasn't. All that time because I did not know about the pump and how it worked. I hooked up the hose and turned the key and away it went. If it wasn't for Larry I would still be looking.

Hi Bud,
When the hoses for the loader was disconnected the pump was dead headed - no place for the fluid to go. When that happens it's nearly impossible to turn over the engine. Your lucky the pump did not split in two or shear off the pump shaft.
Glad to here hooking up the hydrualic hose fixed the problem.

Hi Larry, I talked to 5 people about my problem and not one new that having a line disconnected would not let it start. I sure was glad you did. Thanks
