G'Day All, I found a remote mount Filter Minder on Ebay for $18, and decided to install it. Our big tractors and trucks all have them standard equipment. It was a pretty simple mod, and a VERY beneficial one, too. First, I decided on the location. It needed to be visible when performing routine fluid checks, so I decided that around the dipstick area would be a good spot. The filter barb will be mounted on the Intake Manifold Elbow, and the Filter Minder unit will be mounted on the Cowling Support Bracket on the left side. After removing the elbow and bracket, I drilled and tapped for the filter barb in the elbow, and then drilled two holes on the bracket for mounting the unit. After replacing the elbow and bracket, and running the hose, the mod is done. When I started the tractor, there was no change in the unit. However, when I revved the engine to 1500, the plunger/indicator moved to the first mark, which shows 8 " H20. Replacement of the filter is at the mark 25 " H20. Here is the completed mod. The inset is a zoom view. Have a great one, TJ.

Nice mod TJ -
I know you have been up to your elbows in snow, so not much dust this time of year. I think in the long run these little filter minders should pay off quite nicely. I sure like the idea of not having to guess whether or not to clean or replace the filter.
Who was taking the picture when you were at the drill press? Based on the angle looks like it was a little person.

Nice mod and documentation TJ. I'm back from 8 days at camp now. I'll have to post how easy the installation of the "Filter Minder" was for me. I had Larry do it when he visited a couple weeks ago. ;D BTW, he did a great job and whipped it out in no time at all. Rob-
