We had in mind this kind of work, when we last year replaced our old Ferguson TEA20 with a new Foton FT404 tractor with a TZ04D-404 front end loader. This year we added a LW-7 backhoe for ditch digging and extracting soil for adding onto the road surface.
Our tractor has now 165h on the meter, with half of that with the backhoe mounted. All has been working very well, and we are very pleased with the performance of the individual parts, as well as with the total combined tractor & implements unit.
Of course we have had problems, such as the leaking CBN-E310 hydraulic pump bolted to the PTO gearbox. We were initially thinking of direct coupling the hydraulic hoses from the valve kit to the tractors Quick Disconnect outlets. But the problem was that the local hydraulic shop didn't have the Chinese Metric standard on the adaptors. Sweden is mainly using the BSP, but the Metric standard is slowly entering on new equipment.
Considering the advantage of having bought the most popular backhoe brand in Sweden, we actually got a generous offer from a neighbour village, where the owner of the similar LW-6 offered to loan us the PTO gearbox and hydraulic pump. We just replaced our old pump, and were quickly back onto the road work again.
This year has been generous with rain in this part of Sweden, located about 450 meters above sea level and close to the Norwegian border, where the Golf stream are pumping low pressure and rain onto Scandinavia. Once you start digging, you immediately see the water. Cleaning up the old ditches worked out quite well, but at some spots extra support was needed, to prevent the whole tractor unit to sink too deep with a risk of getting stucked there.
Here are some photos from last week, with my brother on the tractor, and myself behind the camera:
