Hi all
I know most of us tractor owners are way out in never never land. We are too. I recently got a Wilson db pro booster. Mounted the antenna and such. Now we can use the phone anywhere in the house and the internet via hot spot too. The internet connection is still not great but sure beats none. I sent wilson an email today asking what the optimum height above ground is and how long a cable run can be. I can recommend their product as I know it does work as we had no service at the house before. I am writing this from home now. Just a bit of info incase anyone was considering one of these but not sure if it was worth the money, it is.

I have one in my shop, since the metal roof and concrete walls kill the weak signal where I am. It works, but it only brings the weak signal inside, it doesn't really make it any stronger. Still, way better than no signal!

Rich
That's strange I went from no bars to two / three on 3g, full meter on 1x. Now I did get the directional outside antenna. Do you have directional or Omni. My antenna is 47 ft up also, three ft in ground. We are way down in a bottom though. I emailed them to see what I need to do to get up to full strength so I have a good internet connection. Just bought a hp pavilion g7 refurbished. First computer I've had since we moved five years ago.

Wow Larry half a decade is a long time in the computer world. The new HP must seem like a Rocket Ship compared to your old one.

I just have the omnidirectional antenna, Larry. No gain with that. I've considered getting the directional panel, but I understand that the local AT&T cell service is being upgraded to 4G so I'll wait and see what that does for my signal.

I use something very similar from my house to my shop for wifi. Mine are made by Engenius and work great. I'm only shooting about 200 yards, but there's a lot of vegetation and a stone wall or three in the way and it still works great.

that's pretty cool. I don't know if that would help my situation any. My problem is the distance and terrain between the tower and my house. But a slow hot spot connection beats no connection. Still amazes me to be this far off grid and able to be on the internet from home without paying hughes net prices.
