Little Progress Update. I have been in plan check and regional planning approval for over 7 months now. Thursday I finally got approval from the county for my project!!!! I had originally submitted for two houses (Primary 3200/secondary1200) but got shot down because I didn't have a 50 foot wide street in front of my lot. So I had to merge the two houses. Basically I took the kitchenette out of the secondary residence and pushed the two houses together and connected the them with a turret and stairwell. The end result was 5280sf of living space and a total structure of 8900sf. The 8" 700 foot water pipeline is now all approved and they are starting to install Wed. 14+ months for water! I still have Building and Safety, Fire Dept and Health Department approval pending...

Thursday I finally got approval from the county for my project!!!! I was wondering what was happening to your construction project. Good news you got over some of the hurdles already Scott. Most county bureaucracies are a real pain to work with! We want to see you using your new Jinma 554 and all that other cool stuff you bought. Go move some dirt now that you can. Rob-

That CAT was so fun... Cleared 2.5 acres and ripped it in a day and a half... Being able to take 20 foot swipes at a time sure made short order of turning my 20'x700' wide street into 40'x700'...

How long will it take them to finish that water line up? What's the length of that run with that 8" there, looks like a long ways? How much longer before you house is done?

Scott, What do you do with an 8" water line? How much do you have to pay for a water meter that big. That's huge.... Are you feeding a lake or something.... I use 2" PVC from my well to the homesite about 2000' away. Are you in LA or Kern county? What a pain in the rear to have to deal with LA county. Tom

I hope that's a tree root sticking out of the left side of the trench and not the local telephone cable?? Interesting pics Scott Matthew.
