Sorry I have not contributed much of late, life has been hectic but with little to photograph. As some may remember we had the driest season since records began last spring/summer/autumn and water was a real problem, I had the house well dug out deeper until we hit rock, well thats all changed, we have now had one of the wettest winters on record and getting too and from the Farm has often been a problem, the 6Km. (4 Ml.) dirt road to the farm has turned into a DEEP river of mud and my pickup can't make progress. last Thursday and Friday when I was there it rain heavily for 40 hours and caused landslides and such and the yard was a pond and the river in flood carrying all before it including two new fences I had built across it.Well I had to get out and back to the big city on Saturday as Sylvia was flying back from the south where she and her mother had been visiting Sylvia's eldest daughter for a week. I loaded up the pickup with rocks for some weight and tried, I got 15 yards from the front gate and sunk in to the axles. Fortunately the 354 in 4 wheel drive was able to pull the pickup out and (slowly) drag it all the way to the main road at the side of which I took the attached pictures, the return to the farm with the Tractor was OK but the walk back to the pickup was dire !! I think my wellington boots weighed 10 Kg. each ! Oh life's such fun down south Dick PS I shall be low profile for some time yet but have not forgotten you all !!

Lucky Dick, Remember that the rain will make it all green again and fill your well for free...plus you live in a beautiful area. ;D I need hip waders (and possibly a shovel) up here too...but it has more to do with government than rain... Ken

AHH, THE FRENCH
AT A DINNER PARTY THROWN IN JEAN CHRETIEN'S HONOUR,
A MAN TURNED TO MADAME CHRETIEN AND SAID,
"YOUR HUSBAND HAS BEEN SUCH A PROMINENT
PUBLIC FIGURE WITH SUCH A BUSY SCHEDULE,
RETIREMENT WILL SEEM VERY QUIET IN COMPARISON. MADAME CHRETIEN ,
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING
FORWARD TO IN THESE RETIREMENT YEARS ?"
"A PENIS," SAID MADAME CHRETIEN.
A HUSH FELL OVER THE TABLE. EVERYONE HEARD HER ANSWER,
YET NO ONE KNEW WHAT TO SAY NEXT.....
JEAN LEANED OVER TO HIS WIFE AND SAID,
"ALINE, IN HINGLISH, ZEY PRONOUNCE ZAT
WORD, 'APPINESS' ."
