There nothing like having a tool that will work with multiple implements. for one thing is I want a 3 pt. sub soiler but there 160. bucks and I am not sure I will use it that often, and I need a 3 pt. trailer hitch and then again how often will I use it. So I went to tractor supply and for $26 got a draw bar, and a 6" hitch receiver for $14. now to make the draw bar to work I made two 14" angle iron lateral supports, and drilled and welded two stand offs one for the top link and the other for draw bar ends, by doing it this way the bar will rotate to any angle. Then I will need the other implement I attach to it will have it's own support to prevent rotation. you can see it with the hitch I attached to it. Now to make up the sub soiler

Hi Turbo and welcome to CTW. I see this is your very first post and a fine one at that.
That's a nice trailer hitch you fabricated using a combination of off the shelf and home made parts. It should serve you well for many years (like forever!) Great job.
How did you make the cuts in the angle? and what kind of welder do you have? Oh and what tractor do you have? It's hard to tell in that last pic, but it looks like you have some sort of storage on the back. Is that standard with the tractor or did you make that too?
Cant wait to see what you come up with for your sub soiler.

Gugilols thank you for the welcome. I have been reading in this site for sometime and really like what everybody has contributed here. Very informative to say the least. This is my first tractor, I bought it in a crate in May 09, and I got about 30 hr on it now. could not be happier with my purchase. ;D To answer you question I use a old Montgomery Ward 230 arc welder I bought new year ago...many year ago , as well a gas welder. a small shop to fabricate it all. I have several modes I made for my Jinma ( matter of fact I think I play with my tractor more than I work it ) I would like to share them with all of you if you don't mind.. a Carrie all rack in behind the seat. 4x4 idiot it light, I keep leaving mine engaged. ignition switch light, I keep leaving my key on. Improvement to the FEL mounting bracket by adding a support to the front engine mount, that way I have a complete connection from the rear axle to the front, and safety wiring the housing bolts to prevent them from coming loose. Thats it for now.

Hi Turbo -- welcome. I will be really interested in the sub soiler. Are you gonna do a middle buster too?. My hitch setup looks a lot like yours -- a HF bumper hitch bracket with two pieces of channel welded to it then bolted to a drawbar. -- I think I have $50 in it regards

Hi guys! Hi Turbo! I just joined this site and thought I'd throw my 2 cents worth in. Here's a unit I modified for pulling trailers. Just pull the pin and remove the ball. PJ

Hay PJ its about time you came over from Joe's.. this is a grate site and we can even swear with out getting band. I was going to buy a quick hitch and do the same thing you did, but I needed my ball to go low to the ground, my trailer sunk in the mud, and need to get under it and pick it up. It work like a dream... glade your here..

If I had that happen, I'd probably just throw a chain around it, block it up and go from there. When were in a situation like that, we do some desperate things.

Hi All
I am getting ready to build a hitch similar to this one. I would like to hear how it is working out. Do you really need the side braces? The trailer I plan to move is a 28 footer. (HF had the bumper hitch for $16 so I bought one yesterday. Today I get a coupon for 20% off, go figure) Would be nice to see more details on your hitch, the pictures are small for old eyes like mine.

Thanks. I found a number of them on Ebay also. After looking over the pictures I think I can make one of these easy enough, just need to get some measurements off the tractor (6 1/2 hours away). Guess I will post pictures when I get to that point.

Man that is going to make this to easy. Between the 2 of you & the rest of the info that I have seen it will be a piece of cake, when I have time. I have the receiver, HF & I may have enough 3" channel also. More later. I have more of my mom's estate to deal with today.
Thanks alot guys.
