Foton 604 Air Cleaner

The air cleaner on my 604 is mounted in front of the radiator and ac condenser. When cutting hay, the air cleaner gets plugged with chaff and the radiator air flow gets messed up also. The larger Fotons, over 100 hp, have the air cleaner mounted back by the cab with a high intake, which should eliminate the chaff problem. I wonder if one of these units can be bought? Rerouting the intake hose should not be a problem. By moving the air cleaner, I can re-position the AC condenser out more from the radiator and help clean chaff off the front of the rad!

Mine is just mounted to the side of the tractor with a piece of flex hose running to it, Maybe you could do something similar even with you OEM filter.

An aftermarket pickup truck filter might be cheaper since they make lots of them. Flow should be no problem since they're made for a 300hp diesel.

Your set up is about the same as I want. Here's a photo of the setup on a 90hp Foton, notice the height of the intake up and away from flying chaff and the dust collector on top. The truck air cleaner would not be appropriate for a diesel engine used off road, due to the high dust content. A spin filter is needed to throw the dirt away from the element. The air cleaner it's self is barely visible behind the tire. They look similar to yours. PJ

I checked with Tommy at Affordable in Texas and he said the unit is available from him. If my assembly can be modified to mount as on the 90hp, I'll just buy any additional parts needed. PJ
