I have a KAMA 454. Great tractor. In the last few months, its developed an intermittent high pitch squeal. It only does it for short 2-3 second times and only at high RPMs trucking along down a gravel lane. My first thoughts were TOB, Throw Out bearing. But it stops when the clutch is pressed. It also stops if a low the engine RPMs
I can press the clutch with about 2" of free play. As I continue to depress I can clearly feel the second stage clutch. So, all feels good.
As far a the intermittent high pitch squeal, I'm thinking it might be the bearing behind the TOB collar. It has a zerk fitting have only lubed a few times. It's an easy to miss zerk. Second thought could be the actual TOB collar? Rob added a flex hose zerk to his.
Recently changed all the fluids so I know they are topped off.
Unfortunately, The inspection port is covered by the FEL mounts. So no easy way to check the clutch fingers.
Any ideas?

Could it possibly be the fan/alternator belt, they can squeal like a "Banshee" when they get loose or glazed?

On the Jinma tractors I have seen them do the same thing, as the PTO shaft is smaller than the Main shaft and it rides inside it. Try overfilling your transmission by about 3-4 quarts of oil see if goes away,if yes then drain the oil back down. Tommy,
So by adding the extra tranny oil it floods the "shaft inside the shaft"? Sounds like something easy enough to try. Thanks for the tip.

Tommy,
OK, I added the oil to both the shuttle shift and the tranny not being sure if one or both needed the flooding. It was still squealing 5 mins in but after 10 it stopped. I will do the same tomorrow and see if that does it for good. But definitely a good sign. I sure hope so.
I'll check back soon for the final update. Thank you for all your help. As last time, when I'm in Texas again, I'll stop by your store.

After a bit more time, the squeal is still there. I guess wishful thinking. It looks like I will need to inspect the TOB from the inspection port nicely hidden behind the FEL mount! I maybe able to support the FEL and remove the mount only. Once off I will check the clutch finger gap. If I have one of the famed TOB with a tiny hole for greasing, I will lube it.
