After she got the hang of it, she used her new bucket grapples like a pro and started to do the clean up around the camp sites. It sure is handy to have another set of "hands" for work like this. Below is a video of the first time she tried them out. She was working at the homesite when I drove up in her tractor. She stopped what she was doing and immediately got on it and started to work the grapples. You can see they are run by a true third function solenoid valve, so you can use the lift/lower and curl/dump simultaneously while operating the grapples. You have to feather the FEL controls in order to do this on her tractor, since there is only so much flow, but you can see them operate while she is moving the FEL. I tried to get her to do all the functions at the same time, but she had a little trouble with that.

I can't view the video at work... ...but the pics look cool. I think I am going to paint mine red when I re-paint my tooth-bar teeth except I have been toying with the idea of one gold tooth/jaw tip on each... ;D since nothing says "white-tractor-trash" like gold teeth!!! ;D ;D BTW, where are the "honeybee" decals? Maybe add one to each rear-side of the canopy... ;D besides, I think that now with that extra "bite" installed, you should leave them "tough" looking.

Ha ! Well they work as good as they look, great going Rob and Loretta. Too bad about Loretta smashing the trap, Rob, WTF were you thinking? you got all those log scraps laying around camp. Must have been all the excitement wanting to try it out at any cost. LOL I think Loretta's Honey Bee needs a set of bucket teeth.

Hey thanks guys, I'm sure Loretta will comment since she was pretty excited to use the grapples. I'll bet altogether she put 6 or 7 hours on the meter this weekend. Ken, I'm telling you you need to call Loretta about those honey bee decals tonight! Larry, I got a toothbar that was supposed to be delivered today. Got it from Markham where I bought mine. I thought about making one but for what they charged, including shipping, I was about even!! They made it to my specs so the grapple jaws would miss the toothbar teeth in case the jaws were lower than the bucket lip. A buck seventy nine is all. I didn't tell Loretta how much easier it is to grab stuff with the toothbar on. I'll let her find out and marvel over it, maybe she'll tell me I'm a genius or something for getting one. Rob-

HaHaHa 1+2=3 LOL yea and it took the entire legal pad to figure that out J/K Looking Good Rob and Loretta, Nice paint job too on the super futuristic looking grapple jaw assembly, and the new Scorpion technologies handle is sweet. I had to cut the handle bar down a little:A little? you mean cut it down to a nubby little stubby, HaHaHa. OK I want to know the real story about Valve placement? Did it go something like this? - Loretta to Rob - Honey - I want my valve to operate upside-down and back-wards from normal, it that OK?Rob- Sure, no sweat, I can do that, Let me get this straight... what you mean is when I, or anyone else drives your tractor we can crash the FEL bucket into an object because we will move the valve the wrong way to clear the object, Is that correct?Loretta: Yes, ExactlyRob- OK - WhateverTo please Loretta, Rob proceeds to modify the mounting plate then install the valve upside-down and back-wards, What a guy... A week later, after Rob has crashed the FEL bucket into everything in sight..... Loretta - Rob Honey, my dear, can you RE-install the valve? I think that Lucky horseshoe charm need to face out-wards, it would make for better Fungswey.Rob - WHAT Sure no problem Loretta Dear, I'll get right on it......Let me get this straight... You want me to disconnect all the hoses, un-modify the valve bracket, install it the way it was designed, then re-route and re-install the hoses so the horse shoe faces outward? IS that your FINAL answer?Loretta- Well...maybe not my final answer, but that's not going to be a problem is it?Rob- No Problem, you know I will do that for you, it will help to increase my post count (grumble, grumble: Is that sort of how it went? Inquiring minds need to know... You two are a riot, I hope you don't mind this little parody to poke a little fun do you? Larry You remember THAT post from Larry G? Well, last visit up, after installing the correct solenoid valve, I decide to turn everything BACK around so her darn valve works the way it's designed and supposed to work. What PITA!!! So here are some photos of the FEL valve...AGAIN. Oh, and also a couple pics of Loretta moving her Jinma Chipper with my Kama. I worked her tractor for a couple of hours also, and I'll have to say that RanchHand FEL valve is as smooth as butter. It's a really, really good valve. Rob-

Oh geeze, modified to unmodified. Did anyone notice anything here? I could be wrong but looks to me like all the threads on the fittings are nearly worn out, what, between troubleshooting the 120 volt AC vs the 12 DC volt solenoid mix-up, re-routing all the plumbing to test the grapple with the Kama hydraulics, then re-routing the FEL valve hoses at least three times.
Well Loretta how bout it? Whats your take on the entire grapple build project besides that huge proud smile on your face?
